Halloween

With the next holiday being Halloween, a friend suggested that I write a blog post about it.

So, Halloween is a (unfortunately) forgotten holiday in the UK. Personally, I love it. Even though most people my age don't do much about Halloween, I go trick-or-treating with my best friend every year with her friends and family. Last year, we wear dead ballerinas and this year we are girly zombies.

What my point is, is that Halloween costumes don't just consist of witches, ghosts and devils. Be creative! If you want to go trick-or-treating but don't want to wear that dodgy with outfit you got 2 years ago, you may want to have a click at Bethany Mota (MacBarbie07) 's YouTube Channel.

I have already expressed my love for all things YouTube in my previous blog post: http://georgiev123.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/youtube.html  ...

...but Bethany is by far the best at creating cool and girly Halloween outfits with her SpookBook series that she does every year. Today, she posted this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkPaUP2iSQM

Bethany as a Minion

She has done:

Befriending Books

Hello my friends,
When I was younger, I used to read a lot, and I still do. What upsets me is that other people have given up because it's 'uncool' and 'geeky'. I think that. As a teenager, I'm in the minority of people who actually enjoy getting into a good book and I think that there has to be at least one book/author for everyone but they just lose the experience. I understand that teenagers are busy people with having to tweet every 5 seconds but maybe your next tweet should go like this: "Just about to start a new book! #geekchic"

I must admit, last year, I did not read much at all and now there are so many books that I can't wait to get started on. Now, I feel that after reading this, you might say "Well what am I supposed to read?" so I present:

A BOOK I HAVE READ

A BOOK I AM READING

A BOOK I WANT TO READ

The book that I would like to talk about that I have read is a typical amongst people my age but it has to be, 'The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. The main character is cancer suffering Hazel Grace Lancaster who is a teenager. Along her interesting and page-turning journey she sparks a instagram worthy romance with gorgeous plot twist, Augustus Waters. If you're not that into reading, it's a great book to get started on.

The book that I am reading is titled 'Ketchup Clouds' which I know sounds bizarre but after I read the blurb, I was hooked. This book is by Annabel Pitcher. I've only just started this book but from what I gather, it's about a girl named Zoe who has a deep secret. She meets a mysterious man who knows all about lies, secrets and betrayal. Desperate to share her feelings, she writes a series of letters. The book contains the letters she wrote.

The book I want to read is actually a sequel to a book I have just finished by Malorie Blackman. After finishing the first book in the series, Noughts and Crosses, I knew I had to get my paws on the second one, "Knife Edge". This series explores something that I've never encountered in a book before : Racism. Obviously, I knew a bit about how people were separated due to their skin colour in the 1960s (I think) but I know more about the personal effects of it due to reading Callum and Sephy's story. These star-crossed lovers are the modern day Romeo and Juliet. Sephy is a black cross who's father is a very important man whereas Callum is a white nought and in scrutiny from the higher classes crosses. Their romance takes them on a emotional yet action packed, thrilling journey. The book ends with Callie Rose. (You'll understand that if you read/have read it)

So, thank you very much for reading (ha, get it) and I hope you enjoyed my personal views and thoughts. Please, please, please read a book whenever you have spare time. It doesn't take much time to have a lifetime of being clever!

Love, Gx

Birthday and Little Mix Collection Makeup Review

Hello all, as you've probably gathered from the title, it was my birthday. Yesterday,in fact.
For my birthday, my mum got me a lot of the Little Mix Collection Makeup range as I am a huge mixer! (I love Jade)

The girls at their Makeup Range Launch in London.

I was extremely lucky to receive these great products as a gift. I would most definitely not buy this much if I were to purchase the products myself. Also, I'm not bragging, just sharing my thoughts.

I will review the products as categories like lips, eyes etc

Non of the products have names, they are only called things like 'Perrie's lipstick, Leigh Anne's trio eyeshadow', etc.

The first category is lips. I got two lip products, both being lip glosses.
The first one, pictured below is from Jesy's range.  This lip gloss is a gorgeous candy pink with a shimmer. I really like this product for day time.
The second lip product that I received was another lip gloss, but this time it is from Leigh Anne's range (whose birthday was also yesterday). This gloss is more natural, being a muted coral. It also has a shimmer.

The next category is eyes! (Get ready, there's a lot)
The first thing is this category is Jade's trio palette. It has three colours (hence, trio). There is a brightening gold, a mid brown and a khaki green. I know from being a fan that Jade often wears these colours on her eyelids herself, so it just shows that the girls really did have a big influence on their products. The trio palette comes with a small applicator.

The next product in this category, I didn't actually get for my birthday, I got it about 2 weeks before when I went shopping with my friend, but I thought I ought to put it in this post anyway. It is the Jade's defining mascara. It is very good for lengthening your lashes with minimal clumps. It is pure black.

My next two products are both Dazzle Me eyeshadows. They are loose powders,
The first one being from Leigh Anne's range. It is a bronzed chocolate colour with added sparkle.

The next Dazzle Me eyeshadow I have is from Jesy's range. It is a uplifting pale peach again with added sparkle.

Only four more items! Keep going!

The next 3 items are all eyeliners.
The first 2 are the glittered Rock It liners. The first one I wish to review is from Jade's range. It is a bright aqua blue and even though it is pretty electric, I'm really looking forward to experimenting with it.

The next eyeliner is also a Rock It liner, this one being from Leigh Anne's range. I have used this a lot as it is a subtle gold that adds that extra sparkle.

My last (but not least) product is the group liquid eyeliner in black. It is exactly the same as Collection's other liquid eyeliners to be honest but I like it all the same. The applicator is like a small felt tip, it is not a brush.
There is only one product in my final category which is cheeks. I have Perrie's Blush It blusher which is a beautiful rosy pink.

Please note, I do know that the pictures aren't mine, I'm not able to take really good pictures so I thought that the pictures used would be clearer. My mum chose these product by colour, not by whose range they came from though she did have the fact that Jade is my favourite in mind. Also, I tried really hard to make this work :)

Thank you for reading this extremely long blog post. I know that there are many other products from Little Mix's range, so pop down to your local Boots or Superdrug and look in the Collection section. All of these products are under four pounds!

Thank you for reading,
G x
